Is there an app for quitting snus?
Yes. Quit Zyn: Pouch & Snus Tracker is a free app for iPhone and Android that counts your nicotine-free days after snus. You set your quit date, and the app keeps the count, with a daily check-in, a calendar and a guided breathing session for cravings. There is no account to create.
Disclosure: Jack Wallner makes Quit Zyn, so this page describes his own app. Features and what is free were checked against the app as of October 2026.
What does the app track for snus?
- Days since your quit date: pick today or any past date, and the count starts from there. You see your current streak, your longest streak and your total nicotine-free days on a calendar.
- A daily check-in: one tap to log how the day felt, plus a daily reminder at the hour you choose.
- Craving mode: when you tap "I'm having a craving", it starts box breathing, four seconds each for in, hold, out and hold. It runs for two minutes, you can add a minute at a time up to ten, and you can note how strong the craving was and what set it off.
- Slips: a slip restarts the counter from that day, your calendar, longest streak and total nicotine-free days stay, and you can undo a slip you logged by mistake.
- A bonsai garden: a small tree that grows with your check-ins and keeps half its growth if you slip.
Does it work for snus as well as Zyn?
Yes. Quit Zyn counts nicotine-free days, so the counter works the same for snus, Zyn and other nicotine pouches, dip, vaping or cigarettes. The app's name lists pouches and snus, and setup asks about pouches and cans, which is the unit the optional Bloom+ money, pouches and nicotine numbers use.
Where is the count on my phone?
On iPhone the count shows in the app, in Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and on an Apple Watch app, all free. On Android it shows in the app and in a Home Screen widget. See the pages for the Apple Watch and Lock Screen widgets and for Android.
What are the limits?
Quit Zyn is built for stopping completely. It has no per-pouch logging, no daily limit or taper plan and no nicotine strength tracking. If you want to cut down gradually first, the quit Zyn app comparison covers apps built for tapering.
Free on iPhone and Android. No account needed.
