Is there an app for Zyn cravings with guided breathing?

By Jack Wallner · Last updated

Yes. Quit Zyn: Pouch & Snus Tracker has a free craving mode: a full-screen box breathing session you open when an urge for a Zyn or pouch hits. It runs for two minutes by default, you can add a minute at a time up to ten, and afterwards you can note how strong the craving was and what set it off. There is no paywall anywhere in the flow.

Disclosure: Jack Wallner makes Quit Zyn, so this page describes his own app. Features and what is free were checked against the app as of October 2026.

General information, not medical advice. Quit Zyn is a tracking tool and does not treat nicotine dependence. For help quitting, talk to a clinician or call 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669) in the US, and see Smokefree.gov.

How does craving mode work?

  1. Tap I'm having a craving on the Home screen. The button is always there, whatever else you have logged that day.
  2. A circle grows and shrinks with box breathing: breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4, breathe out for 4, hold for 4. The screen stays awake while you breathe.
  3. Short lines of text change as the session goes on. With Bloom+, once you have logged a few cravings, an extra line tells you how long yours usually last.
  4. Tap I'm through it when you are ready, or Give me another minute to keep going, up to 10 minutes.
  5. Answer two optional questions: how strong it was, from mild to overwhelming, and what set it off (after a meal, stress, boredom, driving, coffee, work break, drinking or tired).
  6. Close with It passed, Not sure yet or I gave in. I gave in opens the slip screen, which changes nothing until you confirm.

What happens to the cravings you log?

Each session is saved on your phone. With the optional Bloom+ upgrade, the app reads them back as patterns: the hours and day of the week your urges tend to hit, what sets them off and how long yours last. Each pattern waits until you have logged enough cravings to say something, so early on it stays empty.

Is the craving breathing free?

Yes. Craving mode, the trigger and intensity notes, and the running count of cravings you have ridden out are free. So are the day counter, calendar, garden, widgets and Apple Watch app. Bloom+ adds craving patterns, the full recovery timeline, journal, achievements, savings and more garden species. See the full free and Bloom+ list.

Can I start it from the Watch or a widget?

Craving mode runs on the iPhone. The Watch app and widgets show your day count.

What are the limits?

It is one breathing pattern with no audio guide, coach or chat. Quit Zyn is built for stopping completely. It has no per-pouch logging, no daily limit or taper plan and no nicotine strength tracking. If you want to cut down gradually first, the quit Zyn app comparison covers apps built for tapering. Quit Zyn has no App Store ratings yet.

Free craving mode on iPhone. No account needed.
