A total calories burned app for Android
Last updated
Total Calories is on Google Play. It reads your calories burned and steps from Health Connect and shows today's total on one ring, in a home screen widget and in a daily history. It is free to download, needs no account and only reads your data.
What it shows for free
- Total calories burned today in a single ring, with your goal beside it
- Steps with their own goal and progress bar
- Pacing: how far ahead of or behind your usual day you are at this hour
- A home screen widget with both numbers
- History for 7, 30, 90 days, a year or a custom range, with averages, charts and CSV export
Vitals+ (optional upgrade)
- Active and resting calories split out from your total
- TDEE and BMR averaged over your last 30 days
- End-of-day projection at your current pace
- Goal streaks, period comparisons and PDF summary reports
- Net deficit: calories burned minus food energy logged in Health Connect, with a fasting mode
- Excluded days, to leave a sick day or a day off the wrist out of averages
Which watches and apps work with it?
Any watch, band or app that writes calories and steps to Health Connect. Total Calories reads active calories, total calories, basal metabolic rate and steps, all read-only, and you can change the permissions any time in Health Connect. When a source reports only part of the picture, days where resting energy is estimated are marked and kept out of the TDEE and BMR averages.
Privacy
Your data is processed on your phone. Nothing about your health is uploaded, sold or shared, there is no account and no advertising, and purchases go through Google Play.
On iPhone, Total Calories also puts the total on Apple Watch faces and Lock Screen widgets. See the iPhone version.
Total Calories is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device. Numbers come from the records other apps and devices write to Health Connect and can differ from other apps.
