Privacy Policy
Vehicle Maintenance Log keeps your garage on your iPhone and in your own iCloud account. There is no account to create, nothing is sold, and there are no advertising trackers.
Your garage
Vehicles, schedules, service entries, fill-ups, readings, values, notes, photos and receipts are stored on your device and synced through your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit. The developer cannot read them.
Family sharing
If you invite people to your garage, Apple's iCloud sharing makes that garage, and everything in it, visible and editable to the people who accept the invite. Anyone holding the invite link can join until you stop sharing in the app. The name you enter in the app is shown on entries you log.
Owner photos
Photos are only shared when you choose to share one. A shared photo, its caption, the vehicle's kind, year, make and model, and a random identifier for your device are stored in the app's public iCloud database and shown to other users of the app with the same make and model. Reports you file about a photo are stored there too so they can be reviewed. To remove a photo you shared, email the address below.
Lookups
To decode a VIN, list models and check recalls, the app sends the VIN or the year, make and model to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public APIs. To show reference photos it sends the make and model to Wikimedia Commons. Links to Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, J.D. Power, Amazon and other sites open in Safari with your vehicle in the address; what those sites collect is governed by their own policies.
Receipts and scanning
Receipt reading, fuel pump reading, VIN and odometer scanning, and filling a field from a photo run on your device with Apple's Vision framework. Images are not sent anywhere except your own iCloud when you save them to an entry.
Notifications
With your permission, reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device. No push server is involved.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple. The app uses RevenueCat to confirm them. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier, purchase records and simple counts of how often a purchase screen was shown. It does not receive your garage. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Deleting your data
Delete a vehicle or entry in the app and it is removed from your iCloud too. To remove everything, delete the app and then remove the app's data under Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Account Storage.
Children
Vehicle Maintenance Log is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.
