Best NFL stats app for iPhone (October 2026)
The best NFL stats app depends on what you mean by stats. Best for advanced percentiles such as EPA per play and CPOE with no account: Football Next: StatScout. Best for live scores, play-by-play and alerts: Superfan Sports. Best for the official league experience and video: the NFL app. Best for fantasy rankings and prop picks: PFF. Best for answering a one-off stats question: StatMuse.
How we compared. I read each app's App Store listing and pulled its rating, update date and supported devices from Apple's public lookup on October 12, 2026 (US storefront). I opened HOF on a Mac to see what a new user gets before signing in. The other apps are described from their listings, so I only state what a listing says. Jack Wallner makes Football Next: StatScout, so read its entries with that in mind.

Football Next: StatScout
StatScout ranks NFL players on advanced percentiles in Passing, Rushing, Receiving and Defense, with a red-to-green style bar on every metric, EPA per play, CPOE and YAC over expected among them. Leaderboards, full profiles, search and a Following list are free with no account and no ads, and it checks for new stats through the day in season. The trade-offs are real: it has no live scores, play-by-play, video, news, odds or fantasy tools, it is iPhone and iPad only, and trends, recent-form windows, comparisons, team scouting and seasons back to 2000 sit in the paid StatScout+ tier. It is new, with no ratings yet.
Superfan Sports: NFL Football
Superfan is the best pick here for following games as they happen. Its listing covers live scores, drive-by-drive play-by-play, instant alerts, standings, injuries, odds, win probabilities and box scores, with player stats, game logs and league leaders for passing, rushing, receiving, defense and kicking. Its stats are the traditional kind plus game analysis, and the listing does not mention EPA or CPOE. It has a large rating count and a high rating.
NFL
The official app is a hub for scores, highlights, news and the NFL Channel, with live games and replays in the NFL+ subscription. Its listing says NFL+ Premium includes NFL Pro, with over 95 player and team performance stats, and that this is available on desktop and mobile web. So the deepest league analytics are a subscription product that the listing places on the web rather than in the app. Choose it for the league's own video and coverage.
PFF: Betting & Fantasy Tools
PFF is built around fantasy and betting decisions: weekly rankings, a start and sit optimizer, a player prop tool built on PFF grades, a mock draft simulator and prospect scouting. Pick it if you play fantasy or study the draft. It is a decision tool more than a percentile browser, and much of it needs the PFF+ subscription.
StatMuse
StatMuse answers sports questions typed in plain English across the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, college football, golf and European football. It is the fastest route to a single number, such as one player's total in a season. It is a search box, not a leaderboard or percentile browser, and its rating is the lowest in this list.
HOF: Sports Stats & Data
HOF is aimed at prop and parlay research, with hit-rate leaderboards, matchup grades and odds across 15 leagues. NFL is one of those leagues. It asked me to sign in through a web login before showing any content, so check that you are comfortable with that first.
Which should you pick?
- You want to see who is elite in EPA per play, CPOE or YAC over expected, without an account: StatScout.
- You want live scores, play-by-play and alerts: Superfan Sports.
- You want video, highlights and the league's own app: NFL.
- You play fantasy, bet props or study the draft: PFF.
- You want one quick answer to a stats question: StatMuse.
Many fans use two: a scores app on Sundays and a stats app the rest of the week. New to the metrics? Start with what EPA per play means.
