Didn’t make it to the gym this morning. Woke up and didn’t have my usual energy at 6:15, so I decided to take the L and skip it. Usually that’d be pretty frustrating for me, but sometimes you just have to let sleep takeover.

Another factor is that it’s brutally cold in the morning in Sammamish. I’m used to the SLO weather of sunny 70s. Getting into the freezing car in the morning is not ideal. But that’s what makes working out in the morning nice; getting a nice pump in while other people are sleeping makes the workout extra rewarding.

Another thing I’m excited about is that I got my new Fitbit Alta yesterday. I had the Fitbit Blaze for about a year and a half and eventually the battery stopped working. A year and a half on a Fitbit isn’t a terrible lifespan and they gave me 25% off to get a new one. I planned on getting the new smartwatch Gitbit Ionic, but I thought about it, and I really only need a Fitbit to tell me the time and to track my steps. Everything else is information that I can get from my phone or I don’t really care about.

I used to be into my heart rate, but after awhile I can tell what sort of things increase my heart rate and knowing my resting heart rate isn’t all that valuable to me anymore.

Yesterday was also the first day in awhile that I didn’t post on my Snapchat story or Instagram story. For me, not posting is more difficult than finding something to post. I try to post the more boring aspects of my life for some reason, so I guess yesterday was a pretty decent day if I couldn’t find something boring to post.

I’m pretty stoked with the recent NASA developments. I think sending astronaughts back to the moon and then onto Mars is a pretty awesome idea. There’s something to the nation being able to rally around space progress that really works in my opinion.

Bowl season starts on Saturday, which is always enjoyable because it’s just constant matchups of fairly evenly matched teams. It’s also neat because the star players in college are about my age, which makes college football even cooler. And the players that are my age are finally able to enter the NFL Draft.

The Seahawks have a big game on Sunday that will be super exciting. The defense has been riddled with injuries, but the NFC West is there for the taking if they can beat the Rams.

Anyway, that’s all I got for a Thursday morning.

Good luck and God bless,

Jack Wallner
